My wife and I moved to Halstock in 1996 when we purchased Portland Farm.  I served a full career in the military so have moved around the world during which time our home has sometimes been let, but we moved here permanently in 2005.  I continue to work for the MoD, currently running a 10,000 acre training estate in South Dorset, consisting of Lulworth Ranges and Bovington Training Area,  the former being part of the Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site, SSSI and AONB.  I therefore have some understanding about how such areas are supposed to be cared for.  I am also a trustee of the RAC Saddle Club at Bovington, apparently the largest livery stables in the South West of England. My wife, Fiona is a former RGN and now works at a school in Sherborne.  We have four children and two grandchildren so far.  I care deeply about our AONB and am a members of Halstock Vale Watch.  My particular interests are equitation, skiing and planning law.
