I trained as a botanist but mutated to social sciences after experience teaching in multi-cultural London in the 1960s. I then taught social policy and psychology until moving to Dorset in 1990. Here I worked as field officer for rural development in Western Dorset; and then in Adult Education.

I have had roots in Corscombe for over fifty years.

I was elected to the Parish Council in 1991 and served several years, one as chairman. I then took on the clerk role until 2017 when I fully retired from work and sheep farming. My current activities are gardening and researching the local history.

I have kept a continued interest in the work and challenges of the Parish Council in these changing times.
