Dear All, I am Tessa Safadi and I am your Parish Council Clerk.
I have had the opportunity to build a set of transferable core skills in both my teaching (Chemistry) and industrial careers. Living in Corscombe for over 17 years, I have a good understanding of the parish and have been involved in the village as both a first responder and with Corscombe Village Hall for many years.
I have been the Clerk for the Corscombe, Halstock and District Parish Council which covers the villages of Corscombe and Halstock, as well as the hamlets of East and West Chelborough since October 2020.
As the Clerk to the Parish Council, I am the Proper Officer and also the Responsible Financial Officer for the Council, which carry statutory duties and responsibilities. My role is to be the: administrator for the Council, recording, monitoring, advising, and organising its business. I am also the data protection officer. I need to keep up to date with changing policies and to research topics of concern to allow me to advise the Council. Liaising with the public and councillors is essential and the preparation of agendas, minutes and maintenance of our website (chdpc.org.uk) and notice boards is important. I receive all correspondence and other documentation on behalf of the Council and pass this information on to Councillors and I also respond to such on its behalf as directed by the Council.
I love travelling and photography and you can’t miss me as I drive a bright yellow car. I hope to meet some of the newer members of our community and will be at both the Corscombe and Halstock village fairs.
