3. Chairman’s report on Public Rights of Way funding
The chairman read out the report on the Public Rights of Way funding. Simon Dalton was given the opportunity to address the council and raise his concerns over funding for the Walking guides by the Parish council.
The Council agreed that devolved services money would be used to cover the current costs of materials as off the 23rd of May 2022. These costs are £637.01 and £530.79 excluding VAT. This covers the cost of production of approximately 250 guides. VAT recovered would not form part of the ring-fenced PROW walking guide money.
The guides have proved very popular, and a further print run is envisaged. This will be undertaken by an external print company and costs will be presented to the parish council by the PROW for approval before work is undertaken. There is currently £1000 of donations received to date and this money will be ring fenced for future print run costs. This should more than cover the proposed second print run.
It was agreed that the 18 copies of the Walking maps would be provided for inclusion on the Corscombe and Halstock Village websites.
The Parish Council wanted to thank Simon Dalton and members of the PROW for all their hard work in making the new walking guides such a success. The quality of the walking guides was of a very high standard.
Action: Clerk to raise payment of £637.01 to cover cost of materials used to produce the Walking Guide A5 and A4 folders to date 23rd May 2022.
